Since the creation of Delta State in 1991, the Capital Territory has grown into an urban cosmopolitan town/settlement, adjoining towns/Settlements. The population has grown, and the sprawling urban settlement has grown to the footage of Ogwashi-uku and Issele-Uku. The territory has a mixed population made up of mainly Civil Servants, Traders, Artisans, Farmers, and a few industrial setups. The rapid urbanization of the Capital Territory has given rise to infrastructural and environmental issues.
Whilst the Agency’s management is now critically aware of the diversified population growth, managing the stakeholders and educating and enlightening the residents on the vision of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency has become imperative. Hence, on the 25th of November 2023, the agency launched the campaign tagged “SECURE, CLEAN, AND GREEN” THE CAPITAL TERRITORY
This has been followed by campaigns on radio and television stations to educate and enlighten the residents on good sanitary habits and hygiene.
