The Deputy Governor of Delta state, Sir Monday Onyeme earlier today commissioned the renovated club house of the Ibori Golf and Country Club (IGCC) as part of the activities to mark the end of year and the 5th year Anniversary of the Palle Group, a registered humanitarian group of the IGCC.
The Palle group, globally known for its charitable acts, had earmarked series of activities to celebrate its end of year and 5th year Anniversary including a novelty round to raise money to put smiles on the faces of those who are financially constrained from celebrating the yuletide. The group led by Dr. Kingsley Emu is known for providing leadership training through discipline. It consists of like-minded individuals dedicated to implementing societal change through service.
The renovated club house which would serve as a relaxation center for club members had Zenith bank, Asaba Capital Territory Development Agency, Dr. Kingsley Emu and Chief Patrick Ukah among other members as its bronzes sponsor, with Fidelity bank as its Gold sponsor. Owing to the impact the club members have had on society, Sterling bank had also reached out to contribute their quota to the development of the IGCC house.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Deputy Governor commended the initiative noting that the improvements were superb. “They have done wonderful works here, there’s been a lot of improvement, especially in the club house. This is most commendable and should be emulated by other users of public facilities. The standards here have endeared me to the game and I look forward to being a regular player here.” he said.
Facilities renovated include the automated entry system with strict member-only accessibility card, the standard lockerroom, the club lounge, conference room, Captains office among others with the foyer, sit out and others in line to be renovated.
The group as part of its charity work donated the sum of five hundred thousand naira to the Madonna School for the Less Privileged, Okpanam.
The Madonna School for the Less Privileged is an all inclusive nursery, primary and vocational school that cares for people with and without liabilities, takes care of the less privileged in the society grooming them to be able to fit favorably into the society while mitigating against low self esteem.
